About Us
Our Mission
A passion for art and a compassion for others - these are the foundations on which Planet Picasso is built. The mission of Planet Picasso is to share our passion for art with children and adults through art classes, weekend workshops, and camps while encouraging our students to use their newfound talents to help others who are less fortunate. We provide support to several non-profit organizations through various fun, creative, and innovative art projects.
From Our Founder, Susan
I have had the fortune of working as a teacher in both public and private classroom settings as well as developing art programs at YMCA youth camps and conference centers. Having worked with children for over 35 years now, I find absolute joy in sharing my passion for learning. I also believe that learning and creativity go hand in hand.
I enjoy working with a variety of mediums and sharing what I have learned over the years. There is no greater moment than seeing someone discover a new passion. That said, I will also forever be a student myself. Not a day goes by in the studio where a student or fellow artist doesn't teach me something new!
My greatest passion is teaching students new skills to develop their artistic talent while, at the same time, showing compassion to the less fortunate by participating in our 'giving back' programs. Through fun and innovative projects we encourage our students to use their newfound skills to support important non-profit causes such as Empty Bowls, Wine to Water, Safehouse, and NOCO Humane.

CLAY CREATIONS
This is a fun introduction to clay, learning pinch pots, coils, slab-rolling, and glazing techniques. Projects will include whistles, treasure boxes, Happy Mugs®, and more! Ages 8+

ARTRAGEOUS ART
Exciting projects involve several mediums including pottery, painting, printing, paper-making, tie dye, and batik! Ages 8+

ARTRAGEOUS ART MINI-CAMP
This camp is a 3-day version of our 5-day Artrageous Art camp. We cover pottery, printing, painting, and tie dye. Enrollment is limited due to age restrictions. Ages 5-8

FIBER OBJECTS
We will be making stuffy creatures and string projects while learning hand-sewing, pattern-making, macrame/knot-tying, and crocheting basics! *Please note that this camp is a prerequisite to Machine Madness. Ages 8+

MACHINE MADNESS
This camp is for those who have completed a Fiber Arts class or camp. We will continue to enhance sewing skills via the use of a sewing machine! We will be making creature pillows while learning pattern-reading, seam allowances, how to make buttonholes and attach zippers, buttons and other adornments. Enrollment is limited. Machines are provided. Ages 8+
